DUAL 1209 turntable, original plinth - walnut
Dual 1209 - a traditional turntable manufactured in the early 70s of the last century. Version in the original Dual plinth (walnut).
The turntable is functional, all functions work properly. Dual 1209 - is fully automatic: allows you to start with one lever, after the end of playback the arm automatically returns to the initial position. The start can also be initiated by bypassing the automatic system. The device allows you to listen to vinyl records at three speeds: 33 1/3, 45 and 78 rpm. The latter speed allows you to listen to older shellac records (when using the appropriate insert). The appropriate switch allows you to select the diameter of the vinyl records being played: 17, 25 and 30 cm (6.69", 9.84" and 11.81"). Additionally, the turntable is equipped with "Anti-Skating" and "Pitch-Control" adjustments - giving greater control over the reproduced sound.
Upon request, we can prepare the turntable for use in the USA free of charge (replacement of the motor pulley and change of the motor wiring for an electrical voltage of 110-125 V, 60 Hz).

The whole thing works properly and offers a balanced, cultured sound. The original, used DUAL DMS 220 cartridge is equipped with an elliptical needle. The cartridge and needle have been checked and are in very good technical condition (data regarding the cartridge and needle are given based on electrical measurements and microscopic examinations).
The headshell can accommodate all cartridges with a 1/2 inch mount, weighing from 1 to 12 g (0.04 to 0.42 oz) - including mounting elements.
After using the appropriate element (so-called spindle), it is possible to automatically listen to up to 6 records - one after the other. The spindle is included with the turntable.
The turntable has been completely inspected and renovated - the old grease has been removed, the entire mechanism has been cleaned and re-lubricated. All of its components have been checked and subjected to appropriate service activities. The engine has undergone a comprehensive technical inspection and lubrication - it maintains the speed correctly. The arm lift grease has been replaced with new one, the lift works with appropriate resistance. The anti-interference capacitor in the power supply path has been replaced with a new one.
The turntable casing has been cleaned and refreshed, it shows minor signs of use, has minor scratches and abrasions, without major damage.
The mechanism has normal signs of use, has minor scratches and abrasions (mainly around the "start/stop" lever and on the left side, around the speed selection lever). There are also minor scratches visible on the platter.
The turntable has an original cover. It shows signs of use, minor scratches and abrasions. It has two small cracks on the rear vertical surface - visible in the photo. The cover has not been polished.
Overall, the turntable is in good visual condition, details are visible in the photos.
UPGRADE:
- the arm wiring has been replaced with new copper litz wire in cotton braid 7 x 0.07 mm (7 x 0.002”),
- new audio cables have been installed: interconnect - made on low-capacity DK4 cable by Schulz-Kabel (Germany). To ensure the lowest possible interference levels, separate signal and ground wires have been run for each channel. The grounding of the arm and turntable is also run separately - with the cable shield. New RCA "Amphenol" plugs have been installed.
- a new power cable and a new anti-interference capacitor have been installed in the power supply circuit.

- Wow and flutter: < +/- 0.09% (DIN 45507),
- Rumble (DIN 45500), weighted: > 57 dB.
