Turntable DUAL 1226
DUAL 1226 turntable in the original plinth (walnut), made in the early 70s. A combination of great sound and original design. Fully functional.
Dual 1226 turntable - with a traditional idler drive, produced in the last century, around 1973. This is the version with the original Dual plinth (walnut). It offers great, deep sound combined with a classic design. The turntable is in very good condition overall.
The turntable can be fitted with a record changer spindle - it allows you to automatically listen to several records (max. 6), one after the other (the spindle is included with the turntable).
On request, we can prepare a turntable for use in the USA free of charge (replacement of the motor pulley and change of electrical connections and adaptation of the motor to 110 - 125 V, 60 Hz).
Turntable works fine, all functions work properly. The Dual 1226 is fully automatic: it is activated by one lever, after the end of playback the arm will automatically return to the starting position. You can also initiate a manual start.
The turntable is after a full review and renovation - the old grease has been removed, the mechanism has been washed and re-greased. The engine is after a complete technical inspection and lubrication - it maintains its rotation properly. The "Pitch" control (fine motor speed control) works properly, the lift of the arm works with the right resistance.
The whole thing works properly and offers a full, clear sound. An original, used DUAL DMS220 cartridge with a used spherical stylus is mounted (the stylus is in very good condition). The headshell accepts any cartridge with a 1/2 inch mount, from 2 to 10 g (0.004 to 0.022 lb) - including mounts.
Data about cartridge and needle are given on the basis of electrical and microscopic measurements.
Upgrade:
– the old arm wiring has been replaced with a new copper wire ("litz wire") in a cotton braid, 7 x 0.07 mm (7 x 0.002")
- new audio cables were installed (interconnect - made on a low-capacity DK4 cable from Schulz-Kabel; signal and ground cables for each channel were routed separately, the ground of the turntable itself was also carried out separately - with a cable shield; RCA "Amphenol" plugs were installed)
- the anti-interference capacitor in the power supply path has been replaced
The turntable shows normal signs of use. The case has a few minor scuffs and scratches; on one of the sides, on the back, there is a small trace of an old repair - visible in the photo.
The turntable is offered with a non-original cover - from the "Simple Cover" series.
